I wanted to do a brief post featuring a traffic safety report from Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety on the Omar Masood blog. The Roadmap to Safety report includes ratings for each state and DC. Ratings are based on 18 critical safety measures that all states should adopt.
The “States at a Glance” section is here. You can see statistics on each state, the state’s rating, and what critical safety measures the state has or lacks. For instance, my state, Virginia, received a “yellow” rating. Virginia has 8 of the 18 optimal measures. Neighboring Maryland fared better with a “green” rating with 12 of the 18 optimal measures enacted in Maryland.
I hope you take some time to look at how your state is doing.
