I hope you all are having a great holiday season! Christmas is over but Hanukkah and Kwanzaa are continuing and New Year’s is right around the corner.
I wanted to do a quick post featuring a traffic safety report that includes ratings of each state. Ratings are based on 18 critical safety measures that all states should adopt. I worked on the report along with several great colleagues, so I would be remiss if the Omar Masood blog lacked the Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety report before the year was out.
The “States at a Glance” section is here. You can see statistics on each state, the state’s rating, and what critical safety measures the state has or lacks. For instance, my state, Virginia, received a “yellow” rating. Virginia has 8 of the 18 measures but lacks several others such as a restriction on novice drivers using cell phones while driving and primary enforcement seat belt laws.
I hope you take some time to look at how your state is doing.
